Amarula Cream on ice is one of the world’s favorite ways to enjoy the African Original. It is made with sugar, cream, and the fruit of the African Marula tree (Sclerocarya birrea) which is also locally called the Elephant tree or the Marriage Tree. It has had some success at international spirit rating competitions, winning a gold medal at the 2006 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

After maturation, the Marula ‘wine’ is refined and matured in French oak barrels for something like two years, during which wood flavor characters of vanilla and toast are normally conferred.
